Hajosy Arts is pleased to announce a new workshop with Cristina Hajosy at LexArt! Flag books have wonderful sculptural possibilities. With multiple angles of view, they provide interesting double narrative potentials, contrasting viewpoints, or “yin and yang”, if you will. Viewers enjoy the visual movement of flag books. They beg the viewer to play and to keep interacting with the artwork. There are so many approaches to content. This technique can produce lovely patterns in either traditional or contemporary styles, with figurative elements like flowers, hearts, fish or go with abstract shapes. With custom color choices and a personal marbling vat, each participant will complete yards of personal designs.

Join Cristina Hajosy for an art workshop exploring the decorative art of paper marbling. We’ll focus on Turkish-style marbling. This method, “Ebru”, can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds, and abstract shapes or go with the traditional combed patterns. Once again, Hajosy Arts is proud to be participating in this Spring’s Newton Open Studio Weekend. Cristina will be joining her fellow art educators and friends at the New Art Center’s group site. With 20+ artists in one space, it’s certain to provide a lovely stop on the art tour throughout Newton. This city-wide event is always a real treat with 150 artists!
