Experimental Printmaking (and a Book) – New Adult Workshop at Brookline Adult & Community Education, 4 Tuesdays from September 29 – October 20, 2015 from 6:30 – 9:00pm Printmaking is a process of creative discovery because one can never be sure of what each print will bring. Often, the more fun you have, the better the artwork becomes. As you create and manipulate a series of images, you will become a better image-maker as you work on composition, texture, mood, process, and outcome Repeating an image or similar motifs or symbols always leads to an interesting collection. Conceptual and abstract ideas find a way to enter the process with this relaxed, fun experiment.

An altered book is “any book, old or new, that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art.” With no rules, the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination. The book becomes a canvas, a sculpture or a reliquary of personally meaningful content. Draw inspiration from the book’s original author or purely use the book as a structure. Interesting altered book choices will be provided, in addition to selections from your home library.
