This 3 day workshop will explore contemporary paper marbling. We will create beautiful stone patterns and playful combed designs. Join Cristina for a 4-week, intensive class of lecture, shooting, and photo critique. This class begins with the fundamentals. Students learn about camera controls, light, exposure and digital workflow. We’ll explore composition, color theory and issues of visual perception. We’ll take a good look at contemporary photographers and the context for photography today. Assignments are geared toward understanding a range of technical skills, creative image making, and developing a personal visual style. Springtime means poetry at the Attleboro Arts Museum! On Thursday, May 28, the Museum will host the 9th annual Boston Poetry Slam, the Providence Poetry Slam, and other invitees in a live poetry competition to showcase local poets traveling to the 2015 National Poetry Slam. Visitors to the Museum that evening will enjoy a poetry open mic and top-notch performance competition, including an opportunity to judge the slam with Simone Beaubien as the SlamMaster. Poets, listeners, and art enthusiasts of all ages attended this high-energy literary event. Several visual artists will be creating artworks around the perimeter of the museum in reaction to the poetry slam… “performance” art, of sorts.
