I’m very pleased to be showing my new artist’s book, Bathtub Madonna in this fantastic book show. Such a nice exhibition venue with amazing folks. Brings back many fond memories of past exhibits here.

Between the Covers invites book artists to explore the art, craft, and imagination contained within the book form. This juried exhibition celebrates the book as both vessel and artwork—where structure, materials, text, and image meet in unexpected ways. From traditional bindings to sculptural and experimental forms, artists consider what lies between covers: stories, secrets, histories, mysteries, and the intimate experience of turning and unfolding pages. It’s a playful and intimate exploration of the hidden, private, or imagined worlds inside the book form – literal covers, metaphorical secrets, and conceptual thresholds.

Heal Your Body: The Mental Causes for Physical Illness and the Metaphysical Way to Overcome Them, Louise L. Hay, Hay House Inc., 1988.
This book work is another in my Grief Books series. Heal Your Body was a well-worn booklet that served as a daily mantra for my aunt. The highlighted text and notes showed her concerns for her personal health and provided a perspective on the root causes and remedies. She added in a dash of Christianity with some Virgin Mary amulets for spiritual protection (keyring, shade pulls, fridge magnets, necklaces…all over.) Eventually, I noticed her passion for a good bathtub Madonnas during our travels. We’d slow the car for a better look. Her interest has now passed to me.
