This conceptual book includes heavyweight and handmade marbled papers, linen thread and collage. The marbled imagery allows the “narrative” to expand, asking the reader to travel their own road. The accordion book form adds to the visual movement, as well as the rough, hand stitches.
Each year the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center (KBAC) sponsors a non-juried exhibition The Illustrated Accordion, showing in the KBAC Gallery in spring. Open to all emerging and established artists, this exhibition focuses on books created in the accordion form. Still going strong after 15 years.
