This 3 day workshop will explore contemporary paper marbling. We will create beautiful stone patterns and playful combed designs. Using various techniques, we will expand the concepts into unique creations that highlight the floating and freeform nature of this medium.

Working on water thickened with carrageenan (Irish moss), the patterns are easily controlled and the colors become vibrant.  Experiment with a wide range of papers and interesting materials such as wood and textiles. Select some of your papers to use in projects based on bookmaking, paper arts, and home decor.

All supplies and instructional handouts are included. It’s messy business, so please dress appropriately.
