Friday Night Marbling with Tapas
March 9, 2018 – 6pm to 10pm
Tuition: $85 includes all materials, technique handouts and dinner
This technique can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds, and abstract shapes – or go with the traditional combed patterns. Your floating designs may be free-form, combed, or even blown.
Start by learning the process or jump right in, if you’re familiar with the materials. This workshop is structured to be an introduction for beginners or an open studio for intermediate or advanced students. Fostering an open, relaxed environment where all levels of artists can learn and share ideas, producing beautiful papers, and expanding your art practice; that’s what it’s all about.
Each participant will have their own vat for printing. Custom acrylic color and paper choices available. Canson Ingres, Texoprint paper, Masa paper, Mi-Tientes pastel paper, sheet music, and cardstock greeting cards. You’ll leave with a stack of papers and strategies for marbling on your own.
All sessions begin with fresh brewed coffee, teas and home-baked goodies, and we’ll break for a fresh, vegetarian lunch/dinner with homemade soup, salad and sandwiches. Friday Nights have a special Spanish-inspired Tapas menu of interesting small plates throughout the evening. (And, yes, you may bring your favorite beverages!) Non-alcoholic choices will be provided.
Open to everyone ages 18 & up, all media and skill levels.
It’s a messy business, so please dress accordingly!
