She has developed her skills in 20 years of practice as a photographer, teacher, bookmaker, printmaker, paper marbler and mixed media artist. Cristina's art classes are featured at various art schools, museums, at exclusive workshops and via private instruction for students of all ages.

Winter Paper Marbling Workshops at Hajosy Arts

Join Cristina Hajosy for an art workshop exploring the decorative art of paper marbling. We’ll focus on Turkish-style marbling. This method, “Ebru”, can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds. and abstract shapes or go with the traditional combed patterns. Your floating designs may be free-form, combed, or even blown. 3 sessions in Winter 2018 – Tuesday, January 16th and Sunday, February 18 from 10am to 4pm and Friday Night Marbling with Tapas from 6-10pm on Friday, March 9 at Hajosy Arts, Canton, Mass.

Paste Papers Workshop – Hajosy Arts, Canton – Saturday, January 6

Paste Papers Workshop with Cristina Hajosy in her home studio. Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10am to 4pm. All materials and lunch included. Paste Paper, one of the earliest forms of decorative papers, is commonly used for bookbinding, as well as calligraphy, printmaking, collage, stamping, and origami. Paste Paper is created using acrylic paint or similar pigments mixed in a suspension of paste. After being applied to a dampened sheet of paper, the colored paste can be patterned by pulling various utensils across the paste. Design your own paper patterns!

With 20 different techniques from which to choose, the hybrid possibilities are endless. Have a series of prints, photos, or personal ephemera that needs the perfect portfolio or handmade box? Have a specific book structure in mind? These days will provide a creative, open environment that is structured to be an introduction for beginners or an open studio for intermediate or advanced students.
