Hajosy Arts is the home of Cristina Hajosy, a working artist & art educator based in Greater Boston. She has developed her skills in 20 years of practice as a photographer, teacher, bookmaker, printmaker, paper marbler and mixed media artist. Cristina's art classes are featured at various art schools, museums, at exclusive workshops and via private instruction for students of all ages.

The marbling experience is both mediative and creative for all skill levels and artistic interests. Be prepared for a fun, messy, fast-paced art day that is “engineered for success”. All participants will have their own marbling vat, custom color choices, and plenty of paper types. We’ll explore the historical techniques and contemporary trends in this unique form of aqueous surface decoration. Paste Paper Designs – Art Workshop Hajosy Arts – Thursday, August 30, 2018

It’s the last day of August art camp! Paste Paper Designs Workshop with Cristina Hajosy in her home studio. Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 11am to 3:30pm. All materials and lunch included. Paste Paper, one of the earliest forms of decorative papers, is commonly used for bookbinding, as well as calligraphy, printmaking, collage, stamping, and origami. Paste Paper is created using acrylic paint or similar pigments mixed in a suspension of paste. After being applied to a dampened sheet of paper, the colored paste can be patterned by pulling various utensils across the paste. Design your own paper patterns!

Join Cristina Hajosy for an art workshop exploring the decorative art of paper marbling. We’ll focus on Turkish-style marbling. This method, “Ebru”, can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds, and abstract shapes or go with the traditional combed patterns. Your floating designs may be free-form, combed, or even blown. Marbling with Tapas from 6-10pm on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Hajosy Arts, Canton, Mass. August Art Playdate!

Flag books have wonderful sculptural possibilities. With multiple angles of view, they provide interesting double narrative potentials, contrasting viewpoints, or “yin and yang”, if you will. Viewers enjoy the visual movement and performative qualities of flag books. They beg the viewer to play and to keep interacting with the artwork. There so many approaches to content. Excellent for creative poetry, wish lists, sweet nothings, photographs, abstract designs, and more!
