A day experimenting with paper marbling. We’ll focus on Turkish-style marbling. This method, “Ebru”, can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds. and abstract shapes or go with the traditional combed patterns. Come join Cristina in her studio for this workshop – Paste Papers. Experience a full day of creativity while learning this popular art technique. Introduced in the Middle Ages in Northern Europe, Paste Paper is a decorative paper technique that produces highly textured surface design. In our contemporary context, we can jump past it’s initial uses in bookbinding to more varied ideas like stationary, gift wrap, packaging, home decor, as well as unlimited fine art areas like collage, assemblage, and mixed media. Perfectly suited to a one-day workshop, this fast-paced, hands-on art experience will be fun, messy, and you’ll leave with a mountain of beautiful papers.
