It’s been lovely to work with South End Community Health Center again this Spring. I was commissioned to create 16 hand-bound presentation piece for their HealthCare Hero Awards Ceremony.
The process began with a vibrant color photograph of a building mural. A Dream of Sunday Afternoon in Blackstone Park (1998) The mural was directed by Heidi Schork and painted by students from Catholic Charities.
The portfolios are bound in antique Devon book cloths from the early 1970s. An appropriate choice given the founding of the Health Center in 1969.
This evening’s award ceremony feels like a flash back to May 2014’s HealthCare Hero night. For that year, I was commissioned to created a tribute book honoring Dr. Gerald Hass’ 45 years of service.
A huge “thanks” to Charlie and the crew at Natural Color Lab for all their help. They are amazing folks!
