The marbling experience is both mediative and creative for all skill levels and artistic interests. Be prepared for a fun, messy, fast-paced art day that is “engineered for success”. All participants will have their own marbling vat, custom color choices, and plenty of paper types. We’ll explore the historical techniques and contemporary trends in this unique form of aqueous surface decoration. Hajosy Arts will feature hand-marbled designs on paper, books, art supplies, home decor, and apparel. Special selection of Mid-Century Modern dishes and serving pieces from her Dansk collection will be available, as well.

Learn “ebru”, the Turkish-style of marbling, on water thickened with carrageenan (Irish moss). Experiment with a range of materials, colors and papers to create lovely, unique designs.

It’s the last day of August art camp! Paste Paper Designs Workshop with Cristina Hajosy in her home studio. Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 11am to 3:30pm. All materials and lunch included. Paste Paper, one of the earliest forms of decorative papers, is commonly used for bookbinding, as well as calligraphy, printmaking, collage, stamping, and origami. Paste Paper is created using acrylic paint or similar pigments mixed in a suspension of paste. After being applied to a dampened sheet of paper, the colored paste can be patterned by pulling various utensils across the paste. Design your own paper patterns!
