This discussion-based class will teach you techniques that will improve your images and enhance your presentation as well as learn affordable and easy ways to photograph your work. Starting with a basic overview of photo principles, you will learn how aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance play a huge role in image quality. Paste Papers Workshop with Cristina Hajosy in her home studio. Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 10am to 4pm. All materials and lunch included. Paste Paper, one of the earliest forms of decorative papers, is commonly used for bookbinding, as well as calligraphy, printmaking, collage, stamping, and origami. Paste Paper is created using acrylic paint or similar pigments mixed in a suspension of paste. After being applied to a dampened sheet of paper, the colored paste can be patterned by pulling various utensils across the paste. Design your own paper patterns!

This combo class includes turning a wooden plate and then decorating it afterward using Turkish-style marbling techniques. Start with pieces of tree limbs and trunks, make them round and take off from there. Beginners will learn basic lathe techniques while experienced students advance to the next level at their own pace. Wood will be provided in class; advanced turners may bring their own. Then decorate the bowls, creating beautiful swirls and mottling colors with marbling.
