Join Cristina for this 4-week workshop on bookmaking at the Eliot School.
Explore the world of artist’s bookmaking with this survey of techniques and applications. From single sheet constructions, accordions, and sewn binds to more complicated Japanese puncture/stab binds, portfolios, pop-ups and unique hybrids, this course covers all the materials and techniques needed to create personal artist’s books.

$325 plus $100 materials fee payable to instructor in class.

Students will complete examples of each technique in sizes from 4×6, 5×5 to 3×4 inches, along with a phase box to house the collection. Focusing on larger-scale, personal projects will continue throughout the month with critique and discussion to end each afternoon.
This class will focus on form and content in personal artist’s books.
The range of techniques we’ll cover will improve and expand the art practices of any artist regardless of media.
